Parent Voice at Living Faith is Helping to Build our Next Strategic Plan

Principals Pen Wednesday, 19 Feb 2025

Living Faith is committed to listening to the views and expectations of our key stakeholders - parents, staff, students and church members. In 2024 we commissioned a whole of school independent survey to provide performance feedback on a wide range of related education topics.

The feedback from this survey, held in the later part of the 2024 school year, will greatly assist the school as it embarks on a new strategic plan as well as its determination to continually improve the educational experience offered to our students.

MMG Survey

In 2024, Living Faith commissioned MMG Education to coordinate and oversee a 360 Survey of parents, staff and our Year 5 and 6 students. In all, 188 parents, 132 students and 38 staff participated in surveys and provided views on areas such as academic performance, student wellbeing, worship life, extra-curricular, instrumental music, communications, reputation and facilities.

What did parents tell us about their school experience at Living Faith?

The top five areas are noted below:

1. 86% of parents noted their expectations were met or exceeded in relation to the focus on student wellbeing

2. 90% of parents noted their expectations were met or exceeded in relation to the quality of teaching

3. 85% of parents noted their expectations were met or exceeded in relation to a quality education at reasonable expense

4. 92% of parents noted their expectations were met or exceeded in relation to a balanced education

5. 91% of parents noted their expectations were met or exceeded in relation to the school’s values

The Formulation of a New strategic Plan in 2025

It is fitting that as we celebrate 25 years of education at Living Faith this year, we also look to the future through the creation of a new strategic plan for our school. Our School Council has commissioned Denis Mulherin to work with the school community to oversee this important project. Denis is the former Executive Director of Lutheran Education Queensland (LEQ) and he was most recently the principal of Concordia College in Adelaide, before becoming an education and business consultant in 2024.

The School Council and the Leadership Team are preparing the next strategic plan to take the school forward over the next three to five years. Much has changed since the current plan was developed back in 2019, including a global pandemic and proliferation of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Hence, refreshing the plan at this point is appropriate.

A key element of the process to develop the new strategic plan is the engagement of the school community. The initial engagement phase will involve our consultant, Denis Mulherin, facilitating a consultation workshop with representatives from the staff, parents and students. This will be taking place on Friday, 28 March. Information and data collected from the MMG Survey will help feed into the creation of a new strategic plan.

The workshop will only involve a sample of each community group to allow it to be a manageable size. Invitations to participate will be forwarded to the community in coming days. There will be further opportunities for all community members to provide feedback in the coming weeks and months. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or comments regarding our new strategic plan.

Peace
