Lead With Love

At Living Faith, our students don’t just learn - they grow into compassionate leaders who inspire and uplift those around them.

Our new school value, Lead with Love, sets the foundation for a community where kindness, responsibility, and service guide our actions. It encourages us to lead by example, showing empathy, compassion, kindness, respect and being authentically ourselves.

Leading with love means showing empathy and compassion in every interaction. It’s about truly listening to others’ stories, understanding different perspectives and practising restorative justice to rebuild relationships when things go wrong. This value calls us to be role models by showing kindness and respect in all our dealings and by showing others that we all have unique gifts and talents that make us who we are.

We weave this value into the very fabric of our school experience. From small, everyday interactions on the playground to large-scale service projects, this value is embedded in everything we do.

Prep - Year 2

In the early years, we focus on being ‘bucket fillers’, filling each other’s metaphorical buckets with acts of kindness and encouragement. Our youngest learners will practise simple acts of kindness, sharing and using encouraging words while learning how small actions can have a big impact. We encourage students to show their God colours and to recognise the God colours in others - acknowledging the unique qualities that make each of us special and valuable.

Years 3 - 6

As students grow, we engage in deeper activities that help them understand empathy and love on a larger scale. Through empathy deep dives, our students explore problems and viewpoints different from their own. They step into the shoes of others to understand their struggles and challenges better. We encourage random acts of kindness throughout the school, inspiring students to think beyond themselves and consider the needs of those around them. Senior students will take on active leadership roles, mentoring younger students and initiating service projects that reflect Lead with Love in action.

Living Our Values

At Living Faith, we don’t just teach the value of leading with love - we live it. One of the most powerful ways we show love is through service projects that connect us with the wider community.

● Prep Students listen to and reflect on the worries that Kindergarten students have when starting a new school. They then design ways they can support and help alleviate some of their worries in their final term of Kindergarten.

● Year 1 Students visit aged care facilities, listening to the stories of older generations to understand their challenges and connect on a deeper level.

● Year 2 Students explore what makes us a community, discovering how we all contribute to the well-being of others.

● Year 3 Students learn about different cultures in the world, listen to people's experiences and develop a greater understanding of our multiculturalism and how this makes our community so much richer.

● Year 4 Students dive into the impact we have on the environment and learn more deeply about Indigenous perspectives, emphasising the significance of connection to the land.

● Year 5 Students tackle social justice issues by researching the role of service organisations in fighting inequality and raising funds for those in need.

● Year 6 Students deepen their understanding of human rights, particularly the challenges faced by the world’s refugees. Students engage with Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) and devise a plan or pack to support new refugee families within our community.

We look forward to seeing how our students bring Lead with Love to life - one kind word, one thoughtful action and one servant-hearted choice at a time.
